Discharged from Bankruptcy 2 months ago

on 31 May 2016.

I have been discharged with my bankruptcy on 22nd april 2016. I have been given a gift from family of £50,000 as a deposit towards a house around for £100,000. Would there be any posibility on gaining a morgage or am i wasting my time at present. I am looking to borrow £50,000. Thank you

Ask the Specialist response:

Thanks for your enquiry.

We do typically assist clients who have been previously bankrupt and as long as you are discharged, we have no minimum timeframe before applying. We are often told it is frustrating that many of the high street banks require you to wait at least 6 years before applying, regardless of the size of your deposit.

The lender would need to take into consideration the reason for the bankruptcy, however from what you have shared so far, I'd recommend speaking to one of our Advisers on 02077100400 or send us an enquiry online and one of our Advisers will call you back.
